Becoming a member
Our members are a diverse group of individuals from all walks of life, ethnicities, and abilities. We have come together out of a mutual love for our Savior in the hope to share his word of salvation through repentance and to join together in worship as his people.
"After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands,"
Revelation 7:9 (ESV)
Membership is a process that differs for each individual but is granted upon completion of holy baptism and confirmation. Through baptism we believe God sanctifies and cleanses us of our sins, puts the old sinful tendencies to death, and sets us apart for his purpose in our lives. Confirmation is a process through which prospecting members learn what the basis of the Christian faith is and readies individuals for service in the body of Christ.
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
Once members are baptized and confirmed they can receive holy communion. Taking the body and blood (bread and wine) of communion makes us one in body with Christ and cleanses our sins once again.
"Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matthew 26:26 - 28 (ESV)
